Five Wildly Specific Stand-Up and One-Person Shows at Edinburgh Fringe 2024
Ben Miller: Volcano
^This is a real photo^
First, who knew the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park had an artist-in-residence program? What a remarkable fact. And Ben is fresh off his tenure there and is ready to tell us all about it!
From the description: "What happens when a comedian walks into a volcano? In 2023, Ben Miller was the artist-in-residence at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, the first stand-up comedian ever selected. This was probably a terrible idea on their part. Come watch this show where scientist turned stand-up comedian Ben Miller explores volcanology, entomology, Hawaiian history, cats, cookies and more."

Al Lubel Talks About His Name for 57 Minutes and About Something Else for 3 Minutes
Look, I could probably talk about my name for all of two minutes. Three, it would be a stretch. Four, I would be repeating myself. 57 minutes?!?! This is not Al's first time either, he has brought this show back year over year! The entire description: "I (Al Lubel) talk about my name for 57 minutes and about something else for 3 minutes."

Anatomy for Accountants
Kudos for getting this in the Summerhall Anatomy Lecture Theatre! If anyone needs an anatomy lesson, accountants, software developers, and engineers probably go on top of that list. So glad Sacha Copland is here to help sort of the first group!
"A high-risk, high-return dance show. Witness every organ, nerve and muscle in the human body vibrating. Outrageous dancing, profit, loss, live music and the deconstruction of power at a price. It is time to calculate your net worth and maximise growth. The economy meets the human body in a tour-de-force."

Summerhall - Anatomy Lecture Theatre 16:30 - 17:30
The Dolphin I Loved
Maybe PETA should take a look at swimming with dolphins programs after this one... Margaret and Peter seem to be a love story for the ages. The new age Twilight! From the description: "Join us for an exploration of one the strangest relationships between a human and a dolphin ever documented. Based on the shockingly true story of Margaret Lovett and her beloved dolphin friend, Peter."

Greenside @ George Street - Fern Studio

Henry Ginsberg’s Hyper-Masculine Cookery Show
Remember Epic Meal Time? This gave me vibes from that at first, but it seems to be a manly guide to the food world. I, for one, am looking forward to the buffet strategy! From the description: "Stand-up comedian and culinary wizard Henry Ginsberg presents a guide to all things gastronomical. Topics covered will include the inner workings of pub kitchens, flirtations with veganism, buffet strategy and the frankly offensive state of store-bought falafel."
